Why we don't have an interactive blog
Wouldn't it be great to discuss FPS on a chat board or comment on articles and news items? Although technologically feasible, www.fps.org has good reasons for not including an interactive blog on our site.
FPS is an international competition and students from throughout the world use the same future scenes as competitors from Virginia. Since each state and national program sets its own schedule, participants from other parts of the world could log on the Virginia site, follow discussions of future scenes, and short-circuit the security of confidential materials.
Consider also that advice comes in a range of qualities, from good, to not so good, to just plain wrong. We want out site to dispense the best, most authoritative information possible.
The good news for Internet-savvy FPSers and their coaches is that you can still contribute to the site by submitting entries to the Web master. Be sure to make your questions, comments, suggestions, and tips brief and clear. Also, identify yourself (only your last name will be published) and tell us where you participate in FPS. We welcome out-of-state contributors. Future Problem Solving of Virginia reserves the right to edit all submissions.
