Hosting a state bowl
Any participating school division may host a state bowl. The only requirements are logistical: 130 hotel rooms in the immediate area, a school with 80 rooms for competition, and a large auditorium for the awards ceremony. Site coordinators are paid a stipend and the host school division receives an extra bid.
Hosting a state bowl allows you to showcase your city, school, and school division. Future Problem Solving of Virginia works with the host locality to tailor the bowl to the personality of the community. A local band is hired to perform and regional political and educational leaders are invited to speak and hand out awards.
For information about hosting a state bowl, contact state director, Farimae Tate.
