| There will be no shortage of choices when it comes to restaurants on Saturday afternoon. Of course, you're free to try out the food court at Waterside or the posh eateries downtown, but we have compiled a list of fast-food and eat-in restaurants within a few blocks of Maury to make things easy. Ghent (the Maury neighborhood) is a walking community with interesting shops and an historical district. Weather permitting, you might have enough time to eat lunch and still visit the turn of the century mansions and town homes of historic Ghent. Go south on Colonial Avenue and turn left on Fairfax Avenue until you reach the Hague (an inlet of the Elizabeth River). Many of the larger mansions are on the Hague. Walk along Mowbray Arch until you reach the Chrysler Museum. Take turns into the neighborhood as time allows. | |
